We are making some prohibition friendly mocktails with biographer Laura Jerrolds.

Here's my about Marian Nixon by Laura Jerrolds:

Marian Nixon (1904 - 1983) was the Nicest Girl in Hollywood, known for her girl-next-door image and delicate charm. After being abandoned by a vaudeville troupe and penniless in Los Angeles, Nixon broke into the movies in order to survive. Directors soon noticed her amongst a crowd of extras, and they began giving her featured roles.

Her big break came when she played opposite Reginald Denny in I'll Show You the Town (1925), to which she then became a regular leading lady for him. Her screen presence warmed the hearts of audiences in the 1920s and 1930s, with some of her most notable appearances happening when the silent films transitioned into the talkies. She was called the "Mary Pickford of the Talkies," further reinforcing the title when she starred in the first talking adaptation of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1932).

This recipe is from the Tulsa World Newspaper in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was published on June 19, 1930. Laura found this during her research.

Mineral water

Fruit juices (Pineapple, raspberry, pear, strawberry, grape)

Water

Sugar

Ginger ale

Mint leaves

Directions

Combine the ingredients to suit your taste and portion size. Serve over crushed ice or straight. You can also garnish with fresh mint or sliced lemon.

Special Guest

Laura Jerrolds is an author and historian with a special interest in 1920s actresses. Her first biography, titled Laura La Plante: Silent Cinderella, directly inspired her second biography, Marian Nixon: The Nicest Girl in Hollywood due to the many similarities of both silent film actresses. In addition to writing biographies, she also writes middle-grade fiction and works at Florida State University.

Final Result

These recipes make a TON of punch and I just needed to make a drink for one. I eyeballed the portions and it worked out well. You can easily customize these drinks and add your own twist.
